$15.00 per hour during the Summer; $600.00 biweekly stipend during Fall and Spring semesters. GA position includes paid tuition and graduate health insurance coverage.

Required Education:

Currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Kentucky.

Required Related Experience:

Experience working with diverse student groups. Experience planning or working with campus events.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis.

Shift:

Average 20 hours per week – will occasionally go above 20 hours in a given week. This position will require night and weekend work.

Job Summary:

This position is a 20 hour per week position that reports directly to the professional staff working with the Student Activities Board within the Office of Student Organizations & Activities. However, due to the nature of working with students, there are occasions in which this position will require night and weekend work, and will go above and beyond 20 hours in a given week.

Primary responsibilities include:
•Advise programming and/or promotional student directors and committees within the Student Activities Board structure.
•Assist in the management of the Student Activities Board budget
•Assist in the planning and coordination of Student Activities Board trainings
•Assist in the facilitation of programming, event management, and promotional trainings as requested
•Assist in and support other Student Organizations & Activities events and programs
•Participate in SAB meetings, retreats, programs, and events
•Assist in providing overall vision and direction to the SAB board of directors
•Build and maintain rapport with students and staff in SOA
•Participate in SOA meetings, retreats, and programs

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Preferred enrollment in the University of Kentucky Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation Graduate Program or similar program
