Physical Requirements:The essential functions for include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, the hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift:Primarily day shift, but may include evenings, night, and/or swing; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
Job Summary:The EMI Coordinator provides technical support and clinical leadership for the assigned service lines by ensuring all equipment, materials and instruments are operable and available the day of surgery; prepares the room for the case; trains providers in the proper setup and use of the equipment, materials and instrumentation; works collaboratively with the Central Sterile Processing Department and communicates with all outside vendors for the assigned specialty area; and maintains active communication among interdepartmental staff, Physicians and service line team members.
The EMI Coordinator shall be a proficient Surgical Technologist in their specialty area and shall function in the scrub role to facilitate flow of surgical cases when needed.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:The ideal candidate will have knowledge of surgical products, instruments, & equipment; strong communication including verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to identify and resolve problems; work as a team member; prioritize effectively; and possess excellent organizational skills.
