Minimum Qualifications:

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with video editing equipment such as Camtasia, experience with captioning media and experience working with students with disabilities in higher education.

Position Summary:

Coordinate and provide captioned media for classroom instructional materials. Communicate with faculty and staff to help ensure the accessibility of instructional media for students registered with the Disability Resource Center. Provide C-Print captioning in the classroom.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Excellent communication skills. Typing 60 words per minute with minimal errors. Learning new software/hardware. High degree of listening comprehension and ability to process and capture critical ideas while typing notes in a college classroom. Excellent attention to detail. Organizing and completing projects in a timely manner.

Physical Demands:

Sitting long periods in front of computer, carrying C-Print equipment a moderate distance from class to class.

Oversee captioned media work flow by receiving captioning requests, prioritizing requests and respond to requests.

Provide in-service training regarding captioning media and technical assistance with captioning on Kaltura.

Coordinate outreach and facilitate strategic partnerships across campus to ensure captioned media accessibility and section 508 compliance.
