General SummaryThe Inventory Specialist will assist in the maintenance of the equipment inventory system and in the receiving and tagging of equipment. This position supports all of Illinois State University and will interact with all departments campus-wide and has personal contacts with all office management, staff, and persons outside the University community. Additionally, since Property Control personnel support the entire University, this position will have verbal and written contact with all departments on campus.
Required Qualifications1. Two (2) years of experience in inventory work.
2. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
1. Strong knowledge of asset management including electronic record creation in a fixed asset database.
2. Ability to complete analysis reporting on fixed assets within electronic database.
3. Keyboarding proficiency including data entry and management.
4. Knowledge of purchasing, receiving and the invoice payment process.
5. Basic understanding of general filing system.
6. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel.
7. Valid state issued driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday
Functional ExpectationsMust be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
-Ability to lift 40 pounds.
-Ability to push/pull 8 pounds.
-Ability to climb, bend, crouch, kneel, and reach overhead.
-Ability to speak and see clearly.
-Extensive walking required.
