The College of Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant Supervisor for our St Pete Dental Center (SPDC) located in Seminole FL.
Supervise day-to-day clinic operations. Ensure adequate inventory and supplies are available for all clinical treatment including services at St. Anthony's Hospital and All Children's Hospital. Oversee staffing needs. Monitor technical concerns. Provide guidance and resolution of issues. Develop and improve processes that enable the dental assistants to perform their duties effectively and efficiently. Provide training to new hires (as needed). Oversee clinical infection control processes and standards.
Perform dental assistant duties as outlined in the Florida State Dental Law. Assist faculty members, residents, and dental students chairside. Maintain dental operatories and equipment. Sterilize instruments. Take, develop, and mount x-rays. Maintain daily records and patient charts. Instruct patients in oral hygiene. Learn new methods through in-service training participation. Assist co-workers (when requested). Perform other related duties (as required).
Directly supervise the dental assistants. Accomplish annual written performance evaluations and provide day-to-day coaching, mentoring, feedback, and discipline (as needed). Partner with the manager on human resources (HR) issues (e.g., hires, transfers, suspensions, promotions, discharges, assigned tasks, rewards, evaluations, salary increases, and discipline)Expected Salary:
$17.50 - 19.70 commensurate with education/experienceMinimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) Certification demonstrating the successful completion of training as specified in Chapter 64B5-16, Florida Administrative Code.Preferred Qualifications:
