The University of Virginia seeks a highly qualified Administrative Coordinator to support the Vice Provost for Global Affairs. The Administrative Coordinator will support the Vice Provost and global affairs across grounds, which includes providing high-level administrative and curricular support to Global Grounds' faculty, staff, students, and programs. The VPGA and global affairs promotes research excellence, fosters learning, and builds community at UVa. Global Grounds promotes international collaboration among faculty, staff, students, and colleagues outside the University, and creates opportunities and structures for interdisciplinary workshops, seminars, and meetings to advance global relationships here and abroad.
The incumbent will support the Vice Provost for Global Affairs (VPGA) and Global Grounds with project planning and management, coordination and execution of events, travel logistics and general administrative and fiscal responsibilities. In support of the Global Studies Program and major, the incumbent will interact with students, maintain curricular and student records in the student information system, process student applications, develop and maintain databases, etc. The incumbent coordinates planning for UVA hosted conferences and events including international logistics and reimbursements. Financial responsibilities for the VPGA and affiliated centers and units may include reconciliations, cost transfers, and processing payment vouchers.
A High School Diploma and at least four years of experience in an administrative support position is required. A Bachelor's and/or High School Diploma with some college course work is preferred. Incumbents must demonstrate professionalism, including verbal and written communication skills which include excellent writing and editing skills, specifically grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Must be self-directed, proactive and organized, comfortable working independently with little oversight. Must have high attention to detail and accuracy, ability to create and streamline procedures, and maintain an office environment that supports a decentralized structure, including electronic files and records. Experience with Microsoft Office is required, specifically Word, Excel, and Access. Expertise with UVa administrative systems such as Chrome River, SIS, UBI, etc. is preferred as is administrative support at an executive level, including multiple units/stakeholders.
This position will remain open until filled. This is a Non-Exempt level, benefited position. Anticipated hiring range: $19.00-$25.00 per hour commensurate on education and experience.
