Position Summary::

The Talent Acquisition and OD Specialist will deliver full life cycle recruiting. Incumbents will use their abilities to recruit and source those candidates who can work and thrive in a reimaged work environment post-COVID-19. The Talent Acquisition and OD Specialist will collaboratively consult with hiring managers to recommend strategies for identifying and recruiting potential candidates. Help identify key performance factors, develop sourcing pools, and help with establishing interviewing criteria. The Talent Acquisition Specialist and OD Specialist will proactively create applicant pools and talent pipelines by posting job ads through job boards, social media, agencies, professional associations.

Staff Required Education/Experience::

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and two (2) years of experience in Human Resources; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities::

- Experience with Recruiting through the full life cycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar applications and HRIS.
- Experience in working with Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior training experience in HR Compliance delivery and HR or Onboarding Management
- Prior experience with job descriptions position analysis

Duty and Responsibility::

Achieves staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising managers.

Duty and Responsibility::

Assist with reference checks and manage the applicant tracking system; establishing weighted questions to narrow down the candidate pool.

Duty and Responsibility::

Establishes recruiting requirements by studying college plans and objectives and meeting with managers/deans to discuss needs.

Duty and Responsibility::

Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; and maintaining rapport.

Duty and Responsibility::

Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, contacting recruiters, and using newsgroups and job sites.

Duty and Responsibility::

Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranging travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging college tours.

Duty and Responsibility::

Improves college attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring jobs, and emphasizing benefits and perks.

Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation, enforcing regulations with managers, recommending new procedures, and conducting training.

Provides system training (ATS) and New Hire orientation training to new hires and assists with the input and updates of job descriptions.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Evaluates new hire experience by conducting focus groups, surveys, and conducting exit interviews.

Business and Industry Services' staff provide customized support for the community through the Small Business Center, New and Expanding Industry Training and Focused Industrial Training. The Small Business Center is designed to assist small business start-ups and to help existing businesses grow. The college's New and Expanding Industry Training office has earned national recognition for cooperative training efforts with area industries. Focused Industrial Training designs innovative educational programs for the service region's manufacturing sector.

An important function of the college is to provide educational programs on the pre-college level. Literacy Services offer adults the opportunity for meaningful social and occupational growth through Adult Basic Education (ABE), Human Resources Development (HRD), and the High School Equivalency Program (GED).
