  • Position Description:

    The primary purpose of this position is to promote theadvancement of the education of health professionals in an advancedinterdisciplinary, immersive clinical simulation center.  The center incorporates three levels ofadvanced medical simulation models, including low, medium, and high fidelity including:  human patient simulators, surgicalsimulation, minimally invasive surgical simulation, progressive anatomyenvironment, and 3-D and virtual reality simulation.  This position provides the liaison andtraining to students, physicians, nurses, staff, faculty, and other healthcaredisciplines that are necessary to forward the incorporation of clinicalsimulation into the curriculum of health professionals. Liaison for thedevelopment of industry projects and relationships. This position also helps facultyinnovate, design and implement a simulation curriculum for multipledisciplines. Conducts regular evaluations and critiques of programs, solicitingrecommendations from both internal and external customers. Manages and leads inprogram development of new systems, applications, software conversions andupgrades. Creates innovative solutions to forward the teaching and researchusing clinical simulation and identifies opportunities for technologyimprovement and curriculum integration. Participates and support researchactivities that focus on educational and clinical outcomes.



    • Bachelor Degree or equivalentrelevant experience with at least one year of clinical experience.  Knowledge of anatomy and physiology andpharmacology.
    • May have background in themedical field such as: Nursing.
    • Knowledge of advanced,web-based technology & strong computer skills required with competency incomputer technology.
    • Experience as an educator forstudents and medical professionals.
    • Knowledge of outcomesdevelopment, measurement, and research.
    • Past experience working withindustry partners is highly desirable.
    • Minimum three (3) yearsbackground in previous medical simulation or training in the management andprogramming of simulation models strongly preferred .

    Communication and other skills:

    • Superior organizational,planning, communication and customer service skills required.
    • Must be able to relate tomultiple disciplines within the medical field.
    • Able to synthesize and usecritical thinking to problem solve.
    • Be willing to take part in theevolution of a new field of practice and contribute to the development of a new "high-profile"entity.
    • Ability to multitask and tomaintain a high level of customer service especially in high pressuresituations.

    Working Conditions:Work in an Advanced Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Center with a wide range of health professionals who have high level responsibilities and time constraints. The clinical simulation equipment and web-based outcome measurement systems are intricate and require a high level of technical ability and experience. Interprofessional tensions may arise during scenarios that require diplomacy to handle. Scheduling conflicts may arise and diplomacy is a required quality. The job will require sitting 50% and standing/moving 50%. There will be some lifting required of simulation equipment or cadaveric specimens.
