Position Highlights:

Research, Innovation, and Impact at the University of Arizona is in search of a Senior Application Developer. This position in conjunction with the IT Manager is responsible for the custom web development projects within the Research, Innovation, and Impact college of the University of Arizona. Priority of this position will be in setting up innovative infrastructure and programming new systems to solve problems within the organization. The candidate will have knowledge of both infrastructure and programming to make recommendations on infrastructure as well as perform programming.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take leadership role during the Sprint schedule to assign work and break down major projects into attainable tasks for the Development team.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for junior developers and student developers to allow for the growth of the team in general.
  • Build Custom applications to solve problems within the RII Organization.
  • Provide guidance on future operations and maintenance of custom applications within the RII infrastructure.
  • Serve as Agile Scrum Master for Development team of 3 Developers

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming languages and concepts.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging application programming and scripting languages and techniques.
  • Proven track record with successful software development projects.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging security and service protocols.
  • Experience with version control.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.
  • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills.
  • Communicates in a clear and succinct manner; effectively evaluating information.
  • Comfortable with directly contacting and resolving customer generated issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mixed operating environments containing Apple OSX and Microsoft Windows.
