Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct research on AI and machine learning techniques for signal classification and detection, including deep neural networks, RNNs, LSTMs, reinforcement learning, transfer learning, federated learning, and signal intelligence. Participate with other researchers in the study of communications protocols for wireless systems below 6 GHz (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G) and/or millimeter-wave bands (5G mmWave). Investigate sensing algorithms for waveform detection, including cooperative and cyclo-stationarity based sensing techniques. Assist in writing reports and grant proposals. Participate in meetings with industry sponsors.
Minimum Qualifications:- Ph.D. degree in EE/ECE/CS or a related discipline by the start date; experience with machine learning for communication systems; 2 journal publications
- Prior experience in experimental wireless research (e.g., LabView, GNU radio)
- Prior involvement in funded research projects
