Job SummaryThe Writing Center is a resource center that offers a variety of tutoring opportunities for students, both in-person and online. The Writing Center Office Assistant serves as a point of first contact for students needing to use the services, answering phones, questions, and email inquiries. Other duties include checking students in and out of the center, maintaining student log-ins, checking out material, cleaning Writing Center spaces, and assisting students and staff in fulfilling the college's mission. This position will work in-person mainly daytime weekend hours, with some opportunity for weekday hours.
Required QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent
Two years prior experience in an academic or closely related work setting
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to meet with students from a variety of backgrounds
Proficiency learning and using technology
Experience working as an office assistant or in a similar position
Higher Education experience
