Job Summary
Provides program guidance, academic support, and mentorship for students in the College of the Arts. Works in a support capacity to execute goals to increase retention, progression, and student success.
Responsibilities
1. Assists with development of students through advising and mentoring to improve student success
2. Assists with the execution of department initiatives related to retention, progression, graduation, and student success
3. Assists with preparing student success materials needed to meet department goals
4. Works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators in the college
5. Participates in department recruitment and retention activities as needed
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Previous experience in higher education or academic student support

Able to work as a productive member of a team dedicated to student success

Familiarity with resources offered to support student success
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
