Your mission: We’ll rely on you to oversee Houston Community College System’s IT asset PRC and inventory management function.

Your work: A Team Effort
In consultation with the Vice Chancellor of IT and the IT Administrative Director, you’ll develop and maintain the strategic and annual asset management plans in alignment with departmental strategy and budget. You’ll work with a contract analyst and various vendors on asset upkeep, upgrades, repairs and replacements. Finally, you’ll work closely with faculty and staff as you support them in identifying their technology requirements.

Leading the Way
You’ll manage and negotiate licenses, warranties, service agreements, and hardware and software purchases in line with organizational product standardization, while tracking quality throughout the product life cycle and utilizing industry-wide accepted disposal processes. You’ll define, implement and evaluate procedures and standards that affect the efficiency of the Asset Management Program, including needs assessment, acquisition management, operational and disposal plans. You’ll also develop, implement and manage tracking mechanisms to safeguard HCC assets from requisition through retirement, and collaborate with HCC POL to enable recovery of missing or stolen equipment.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Associate’s degree in Computer Science with eight years of IT operations experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.


EXPERIENCE
Eight (8) years work experience in IT with at least two years of experience in hardware and or software asset management and control in an IT environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent documentation skills

Extensive skills and experience with asset replacement and financial management

Excellent communication, asset project management, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in database administration and MS Office products such as Excel, Word, Project, and Access

Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem solving skills

General knowledge of various IT equipment and infrastructure

Strong knowledge and experience in IT asset internal controls

Goal oriented, self-motivated, and extremely detail oriented
