High school graduate or equivalent.

Two years work experience with management and supervision of inventory control.


Experience in the development of programs designed to increase the efficiency of existing operations.

Required: Computer knowledge, standard office machines, forklift operations, pallet jack, and purchasing competency.

Working Conditions
Warehouse conditions; heavy physical duties; position is Security Sensitive.

Special: Must perform after hours and weekend on-call duties.

Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise the activities of the General Stores and Central Receiving.

Scope: To progressively maintain and provide for the operation of the Central Store inventory and Central Receiving procedures for distribution of University property.

Establish and maintain inventory control records, stock levels, disbursement, and warehouse security measures; inspect and monitor the operation of the General Stores inventory control, records and security; must be able to understand and utilize computer equipment used in the General Stores for billing purposes; participate in yearly inventory of General Stores; prepare requisitions on selected items from order lists and physical counts; assist all university, including Rio Grande College in Del Rio, Eagle Pass and Uvalde, with purchasing from and through the General Stores. Establish and maintain Central Receiving control procedures and records; must be able to read a standard packing list; must be familiar with the shipping industry procedures, including the UPS and FED-EX online software; assist all university with shipping goods from Central Receiving; must be able to file damage claims with freight companies; must be familiar with university QVT system for Central Receiving data input. Responsible for initiating payment process of tangible goods received at Central Receiving and insure timely delivery to proper departments; must be able to operate a forklift and lift, move and/or carry heavy objects (includes objects over 40 pounds); must be able to climb ladders and stairs, long periods of standing may be required; must be able to communicate in writing and orally; make recommendations for improvements to the General Stores/Central Receiving operations; responsible for maintaining and updating training respectively for all areas of responsibility; establish and maintain a comprehensive safety program for all employees and visitors to the General Stores/Central Receiving warehouse; other duties as directed. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice

Non-Essential: Assist with special projects as assigned.
