Bachelor’s degree

Direct experience in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a program and events.

Evidence of customer/client service experience or relationship building experience.

Exhibits a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic work style.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Must be able to transport equipment and materials as needed for career fairs, presentations and employer recruiting events. (approx. 50 lbs.)

Must be able to handle fast-paced and deadline-oriented situations.

Must be able to maintain focus in a multi-tasking environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, communication studies, public relations, marketing, psychology, sociology, or related fields.

Master’s degree in human resources, higher education, or related field.

Experience with college recruiting, from a higher education or an employer perspective.

Experience in a career services office, University/College Relations setting, or working with college age population.

Experience in hosting virtual presentations, workshops, or networking events.

Experience with the platform Handshake.

Demonstrated effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking, and written communication skills.

Experience with social media tools (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)

Job Description:

The Employer Relations Coordinator is an essential part of an energetic and collaborative team responsible for providing a broad range of services, programs and large-scale events supporting the career success of the university’s diverse student and alumni populations. The Coordinator supports the Assistant Director in cultivating and strengthening connections between employers, career services, students, and campus partners. This position serves a primary role in coordinating career fair events and assists with overall employer engagement and recruiting on campus to enhance student recruitment and success. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the delivery of all programs and services.

Job Duties:

•Coordinate career fair events including managing logistics, employer communication, marketing, catering, payments, and invoicing.

•Works to increase the number of employers interacting with students and alumni through Career Services by creating innovative engagement opportunities.

•Manage approvals of employer events in the university’s online career management system, Handshake, as well as market and distribute events to key campus partners.

•Develop and maintain relationships with corporate employers.

• Develop a strong working knowledge of Handshake in order to educate and train employers on best practices including event registration, job campaigns, posting jobs, and interview schedules.

•Assist with providing direction to employers regarding recruiting strategies and engagement opportunities, including presentations, career development workshops, class presentations, meetings with students and faculty, and other recruitment initiatives.

•Help employers schedule on campus recruiting events, reserve equipment, and troubleshoot any problems or concerns that may arise.

•Support the Assistant Director in developing strategies for employer recruitment by utilizing data on student and employer engagement, following trends in recruiting, and reviewing hiring results of employers.

•Partner in facilitating relationships between employers and the University community, including students, faculty, staff, and other campus partners.

•Assist with hiring, training, and supervising student workers.

•Verify that employers recruiting students and alumni meet Equal Employment Opportunity and National Association of Colleges and Employers principles and ethics.

•Develop and support class and student organization presentations, training sessions and workshops regarding career development topics, job search information, and available services through the department, as needed.

•Participate in campus committees and teams.

•Complete other duties as assigned.
