Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

Experience installing/troubleshooting/maintaining computers and peripherals.
Experience installing and troubleshooting printers.
Strong communication skills.
Experience designing/maintaining websites.
Knowledge of Adobe Products, including InDesign and Photoshop.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Experience with both Windows and OSX operating systems.
Strong organizational skills.
Experience using content managers for web design.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of university systems.
Proven experience with document design.
Use of social media for professional purposes.

Job Description:

The Systems Support Specialist II is responsible for providing first-call support for Department of English classrooms, Dean’s Office staff, and the Writing Center. The support specialist works closely with the Microcomputer Lab Coordinator to ensure that all technology concerns are resolved in a timely fashion. In addition, the support specialist is responsible for working with faculty and staff to update, design, and print promotional materials for visiting speakers and departmental events. The support specialist also acts as site owner for the Department of English website and collaborates with department faculty and administration to ensure the site is up-to-date and accurate.

Job Duties:

Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software.
Manage, maintain, and update departmental website(s) using the university content manager, Gato.
Design promotional documents for faculty/departmental events using InDesign and/or Photoshop.
Provide first-line support for faculty members experiencing problems in classrooms.
Act as liaison between faculty and ITAC for classroom concerns; escalate any issues to the necessary representatives and; ensure that all classroom issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
Train users on equipment and software.
Install and upgrade PC/Mac hardware, software, and peripherals.
Provide first-line support for the Writing Center and Liberal Arts Dean’s Office.
Maintain inventory of hardware for Liberal Arts Dean’s Office, Writing Center, and Liberal Arts Advising Center.
Manage department events calendar via Trumba.
Act as back-up support for Microcomputer Lab Coordinator.
Perform other duties as assigned.
