Extension Program Assistant III, PROSPER
Department of Family and Consumer Sciences
UT Extension, Anderson/Scott counties
Pay Grade 36
The Extension Program Assistant will work to support the PROSPER project in Anderson and Scott counties under the direction of the FCS Extension Agent and County Director. This full-time, grant-funded position will assist with grant activities aim at implementing and evaluating a community-based substance abuse prevention strategy. Continuation of this position is dependent upon grant funding and satisfactory work performance.Duties include:
- Provide leadership for grant activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion or veteran status.Complete any required training for this position.Assist with program implementation activities throughout the county.Work cooperatively with all county Extension staff for the implementation of grant activities, including planning, coordination of activities, and training/teaching. Assisting the agent in planning and conducting training.Assist in promoting PROSPER activities to local organizations and community sites.Assist in needs assessment, enrollment and reports, and preparing program materials. Complete timesheets and travel records per University policy. Assist with other duties as assigned related to tasks for the PROSPER project.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum five years of related experience required and prior training experience.
- Preference will be given to those with more than 5 years of related experience and teaching experience, and 2 or more years of supervisory and training experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to teach prepared curriculum and preparing materials that support the program.
- Ability to create curriculum.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook.
- Ability to make public presentations.
- Ability to travel across the county.
