Physical Requirements:Regular use of computer workstation and repetitive motion. Occasional standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds. Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 50 pounds. Regular exposure to blood borne/airborne pathogens.
Shift:Monday – Friday, day shift with some early morning and early evening hours. Possibility of call time.
Job Summary:The UK Healthcare Enterprise laboratory is looking for applicants to support a busy, complex academic medical center laboratory. This position resides in the in the Outpatient arena and may be located at any of several locations: Polk Dalton Clinic, Eastern State Hospital, Kentucky Clinic South and more. The position will greet customers, performs patient registrations, performs accurate order entry in the Laboratory information systems, clarify orders from clinicians and perform patient phlebotomies. When appropriate this position will perform clinical teaching with patients, perform specimen processing, and perform waived testing procedures. The applicant must possess excellent customer service skills, enjoy multitasking and pay attention to detail.
The candidate must be a team player and be able to take initiative.
