Physical Requirements:Requires handling of light-objects up to 10 pounds, or some standing or walking.
Shift:8:00am – 5:00pm; Monday – Friday; with some holidays and weekends per business needs.
Job Summary:The Assistant Chief Nursing Executive is responsible and accountable for nursing care quality, practice and resources.
The Assistant CNE responsibility for nursing care will extend across the care continuum. The Assistant CNE is responsible for collaboratively working to provide a systemic structure where care transitions can occur seamlessly for patients regardless of care venue. The Assistant CNE should actively lead organizational work to create a high reliability care structure for patients, families and staff.
The primary reporting line is to the UK HealthCare Chief Nurse Executive. The position is expected to interact with physician and administrative partners to develop and maintain the overall clinical programs that ensure patient care quality and associated outcomes. They will be a leader in dyadic partnerships. The role interacts and collaborates with other assistant CNE’s colleagues to ensure nursing care standards and approaches are complementary and meet the needs of patients at whatever point they may intersect the UK HealthCare system.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:The ideal candidate will possess experience working with large and complex processes; extensive clinical skills professional and nursing theory/practice; strong leadership and management skills; have the ability to lead and facilitate projects, taking into account divergent demands while managing scope and timelines; demonstrates strong analytical and qualitative research experience; exceptional planning and organizational skill; effective written and verbal communication skills; and be able to lead diverse groups towards University-focused objectives.

Preferred Education/Experience:Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Previous experience and demonstrated leadership and management ability with a minimum of five years’ experience in managing multiple units or a large complex system in a teaching facility preferred.
