Position Summary:

This position is supervised by the Entomology Business Manager and will interact daily with faculty, staff, and students. The position is responsible for managing accounting, budgeting, auditing, payroll, and other financial or related functions to ensure the financial integrity of the Department of Entomology. The position is responsible for ensuring that accounting and payroll transactions are handled in a timely and accurate manner and that all transactions are processed according to UGA and State of Georgia policies and procedures. The incumbent will work across numerous departmental lines and must be able to work independently and efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assists Business Manager in maintaining departmental budgets and accounts. Prepares Budget Transfers, Budget Journals, General Ledger journal vouchers, AP journal vouchers in UGA Financial Management System (OneSource) when directed and following proper accounting procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepares travel authorization requests, travel expense statements, and check requests for travel reimbursement. Prepares electronic check requests for monthly and weekly bills. Prepares honorariums as needed for non-employee reimbursements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepares and processes payroll and leave requests for hourly (biweekly) payroll employees. This includes personnel actions, budget amendments, and reconciling/posting leave records for employees following approved practices and procedures.

Assists new employees with paperwork necessary to be set up in UGA systems. Also assists terminating employees with paperwork required upon termination of employment.
