The Bertholet Lab is seeking a Molecular Biologist or Biophysicist Postdoctoral Scholar
Applications are sought for a full-time postdoctoral position. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team in the laboratory of Dr. Ambre Bertholet's Lab in the UCLA Department of Physiology, School of Medicine. The focus of the Bertholet Lab is on the molecular mechanisms responsible for mitochondrial energy distribution, with a particular interest in mitochondrial thermogenesis.
By employing the novel mitochondrial patch-clamp assay combined with modern cellular and molecular techniques, the Bertholet Lab will provide new insights into the mechanisms that control mitochondrial bioenergetics for therapeutic purposes. Projects may include but are not limited to interrogating mechanisms of mitochondrial thermogenesis in brown and beige fat, understanding mitochondrial energy distribution in non-adipose tissues such as heart and liver, and discovering new tools to control mitochondrial functioning.
