Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Interdisciplinary Studies Department (ISD) houses several programs:
*African and African Diaspora Studies
*Asian Studies
*Comparative American Studies
*Gender and Women's Studies
*Latin American/Latinx Studies
*Native American & Indigenous Studies
*Peace Studies
*Religious Studies
Each program offers a minor, and the department also offers courses in Science, Technology, and Society, a degree in African and African Diaspora Studies and Asian Studies and a Master's in American Studies. In addition to academic programs, faculty are deeply involved in research and community outreach activities and organize several student-oriented conferences each year.
Job Summary
The Interdisciplinary Studies Department at Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of part-time open rank faculty positions to teach interdisciplinary undergraduate courses. These courses are most often introductory level (general education), but there may be opportunities to teach other departmental courses as well.
Part-time faculty are hired from this department's pool of applications on a semester-by-semester basis. Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campuses. Qualified out-of-state applicants are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
A Master's, PhD or other terminal degree, or its foreign equivalent, in an area that matches an ISD program in which she or he desires to teach is required. Candidates with a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in an area that matches an ISD program in which she or he desires to teach will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous college-level teaching experience is also ideal.
