Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
The Department of Foreign Language at Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for part-time instructors or part-time Assistant or Associate professors to teach undergraduate courses in American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. These courses are most often at an introductory level.
Part-time faculty are hired from the department's pool of applicants on a semester-by-semester basis. Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses maybe be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus. Qualified out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Areas of specialization: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish Teaching expectations include introductory and intermediate undergraduate graduate courses Working with a diverse community
Required Qualifications
Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in the target language or in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the target language. Previous experience in teaching beginning and/or intermediate language at the college level is ideal.
Responsibilities include teaching up to 2 classes per semester with a maximum of 4 courses per academic year. Required: native or near native fluency, enthusiasm/interest in teaching communicative, learner-centered, beginning language and culture courses. The Department offers beginning and intermediate level instruction in the following languages: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
