Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information
The Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication (TCOM) program has remained the only technical communication degree program in the Greater Atlanta area for 25 years. Our focus is on the “tech” in technical communication, and we use humanities-based thinking to inform our work. Courses in the TCOM major introduce students to accessibility issues, information architecture, SEO and analytics, usability/user experience, and research methods.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. Part-time faculty are hired from this department's pool of applications on a semester-by-semester basis. Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester.

A commitment to excellence in teaching is expected of all faculty members in KSU's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campuses. Qualified out-of-state applicants with demonstrated success in online teaching are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
Successful applicants will teach the undergraduate-level introductory course in Technical Communication, TCOM 2010, to diverse students drawn from a variety of majors across KSU. Class sizes range from 22 to 26 students per section. Topics covered include major genres of technical communication (letters, memos, descriptions, definitions, instructions, proposals, reports, oral presentations), document design, and audience analysis.

Required Qualifications
An earned MA, MS, or PhD in Technical Communication or the foreign equivalent is required. Candidates with a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in Technical Communication or related disciplines along with relevant professional experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include

    Record of past teaching at an undergraduate level Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community Experience teaching online or hybrid courses Professional experience in the technical communication field Experience using advanced features of the MS Office suite
