The Department of Geography and Anthropology offers a diverse range of programs including degrees in Anthropology, Geography, and Geospatial Sciences, minors in Anthropology, Environmental Studies, and Geography, and a certificates in Geographic Information Sciences and Land Surveying. Our faculty conduct research on space and culture in our community and around the globe. They are passionate about teaching and researching with undergraduates. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.
The Department of Geography and Anthropology at Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for part-time faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Geospatial Systems including GIS and Survey. These courses are most often at an introductory level.
Part-time faculty are hired from the department's pool of applicants on a semester-by-semester basis. Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus. Qualified out-of-state candidates with demonstrated success in online teaching are encouraged to apply.
A Master's, PhD or other terminal degree in Geographic Information Systems or related field, or its foreign equivalent, is required.
Candidates with a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in Geographic Information Systems or related field, along with relevant professional experience will also be considered. Experience with ESRI GIS products required.
Other qualifications include:
- Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
