The Department of English at Kennesaw State University is committed to excellent teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and the community. With a diverse faculty engaged in a variety of research approaches, the department models and promotes scholarship that honors humanistic traditions while making a range of contributions to university and civic life.
With more than 400 full-time faculty and 7000 degree-seeking students, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest college at the university, prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. The home of three Schools and eight Departments, the College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for multiple Spring 2021 only Limited Term Assistant Professor or Limited Term Instructor faculty positions, with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
Limited term faculty positions available to teach general education English courses. Limited-term instructor positions are non-tenure track and contingent upon funding. The teaching load is five 3 cr/hr courses, with a primary focus on first-year composition. Faculty teach courses in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have, at minimum, a Master of Arts degree in English (or a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in English) or its foreign equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have coursework in composition and rhetoric. Candidates with experience teaching at KSU are encouraged to apply. A commitment to excellence in teaching is expected of all faculty members in KSU's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Experience in teaching and/or certification in hybrid or online formats and pedagogies is recommended. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching college composition and/or tutoring in college writing centers. Ideal candidates will also possess a Ph.D. in English. In alignment with KSU's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), applicants should also articulate a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.

In 2009, the Kennesaw State Owls completed a reclassification from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I, competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference. During the transition from 2005-2009, KSU teams have won six Atlantic Sun Conference tournaments in five sports, including men’s indoor and outdoor track, women’s soccer, softball and cross-country.
