Job Summary
Retail Dining, located on the Marietta Campus, is currently recruiting for Customer Service Specialists (Cashiers) to join our University Dining team. Positions available are 10-month status with part-time, full-time, and temporary opportunities.

Hours per week range from 19 hours or less, 20-29 hours per week, or 30+ per week. Full-time employees (30+ hours per week or more), are benefit eligible.

Job Purpose

Provides general food service related duties. Maintains cash and media at registers and counts and reconciles funds during shifts. Ensures a positive guest experience by providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for assignments as a cashier, cash management, reconciliation, and register till accuracy
  2. Utilizes POS systems and restocks supplies
  3. Serves as first point of contact by greeting customers
  4. Communicates customer requests or concerns to management
  5. Maintains awareness of daily menu items and meal plans
  6. Ensures food quality, including tasting food for quality control


Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent

ABILITIES
  • Maintains neat and professional appearance
  • Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines


KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of food service terminology
  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations and food handling procedures


SKILLS
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
  • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
