Job Summary
Provide visionary leadership and oversight of data operations, and DegreeWorks within Enrollment Services. Responsible for developing/administering policies and procedures, and budgetary decisions. Conduct data analysis leveraging SAS business intelligence tools, analytical software, and SQL queries against source systems to identify data anomalies and verify the accuracy of associated data rules and relationships.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide leadership and support to department, division, and university stakeholders
  2. Execute record audit reports, interpret results, and deliver analysis and necessary resolutions
  3. Complete enrollment management and communication campaign reports and assist with curriculum maintenance in Banner
  4. Engage with division's management team and propose ideas and solutions for successful progress of division's goals and enrollment management initiatives
  5. Assist Registrar with scheduling classes and collaborate with departments across campus regarding room assignments
  6. Responsible for designing, running, scribing and monitoring performance tests on DegreeWorks for purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
  7. Assist with designing, running, and monitoring software performance tests on new and existing programs for purpose of correcting errors, and isolating areas for improvement
  8. Work collaboratively with Enterprise Systems and Services (UITS) to resolve functional software and/or technical issues with existing enterprise systems, specifically Ellucian Banner (Student, Financial Aid, and Self-Service Modules) and DegreeWorks
  9. Support and assess academic course demand projections and provide support to academic associate deans in the use of Ad Astra Platinum Analytics projections in academic scheduling
  10. Work collaboratively to understand business processes, data rules and underlying data sources that support operations
  11. Help ensure data quality, integrity and efficiency, while supporting correction and eliminating reporting errors based on analysis of data and data relationships relevant to process
  12. Identify data error sources, support accurate data reporting and data-enabled decision making
  13. Develop, train, implement, maintain, and communicate services and programs to relevant stakeholders
  14. Collaborate with campus-wide units external to assigned department to enhance services provided
  15. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, NCAA, USG and Kennesaw State rules and regulations
  16. Contribute and participate in the strategic planning process and future direction of the department/division

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience working in a statistical and/or analytics field
Three (3) years of experience writing SAS programs and/or SQL queries
One (1) year of experience with the Banner Student Information System database (Note years of experience in items 1 to 3 may overlap)
Experience in data management and cleaning, analysis, and report writing
High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with non- technical users to correct data quality issues
Experience creating reporting for executive level management

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
SAS Advanced Certification or three (3) years of experience writing SAS code and/or SQL
Ability to analyze and communicate information in numerical and narrative form; high level of organization skills and flexibility with the ability to prioritize

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or similar field

Preferred Experience
Education or work experience in Statistics or Information Technology with: experience working with and maintaining confidential information, experience with the functions of a Registrar's Office, academic advisement or other university-related student services
Experience successfully working as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Working knowledge and abide by the regulations of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • High level of expertise in SQL or Oracle PL/SQL, and enterprise system/application support
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with non-technical users to correct data quality issues
  • Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
  • Able to work collaboratively with staff, faculty, administrators, student leaders and a variety of university resources
  • Able to attend required meetings in lieu of the Division's leadership
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • High level of proficiency in SAS (or a similar system) coding, data processes, reporting, and analytics functions
  • Proven track record administering a results-oriented program
  • Conceptual and demonstrated leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, analytical, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
  • Execute operational excellence, deliver second-mile service, and activate emotional connections with students, prospective students, and other constituents
