Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Communication position in the School of Communication and Media to begin August 2021.

Responsibilities
Kennesaw State University invites applications for a Lecturer position with an emphasis on teaching Digital Media Production, an entry-level course recommended for all School majors and required for majors in Journalism and Emerging Media and majors in Media and Entertainment. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching media production at the university level and preferably some professional digital media production experience.

The School is looking for a digital media production generalist who can teach the essential technology and software to prepare students for advanced digital production courses in their majors. The ideal candidate will be proficient in teaching the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of production software, including Audition, Premier Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, Rush and InDesign.

The successful candidate may also teach Photojournalism or Visual Communication, if qualified, and perform some service duties.

Excellence in teaching and engagement is expected of all faculty members in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU. Faculty in the School teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

Required Qualifications
A Master's degree in journalism, communication, mass communication, or related field, or its foreign equivalent is required as well as a record of effective university teaching.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:

    Previous experience teaching media production courses Professional production experience Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
