Project Manager, ConstructionTNPRC - Facilities/Maintenance

Location: Covington, LA


The Project Manager plans and administers construction and renovation projects utilizing knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials. The position works with the design team and contractors. The Project Manager assists in the preparation of technical, bidding, and contractual documents. The position establishes project budgets and negotiates contracts and change orders. The position participates in selecting project consultant and contractors. The Project Manager assures that projects are completed within budget; the Project Manager makes sure that project deliverables and documentation are submitted timely, accurately and in accordance with University policies and practices. The position facilitates and/or coordinates design and construction efforts, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving between project owners, Facilities Management, the construction team, architects, designers and other project stakeholders. The Project Manager monitors the performance of contractors to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. The position coordinates work performed under separate contracts in support of projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
  • 5 years of experience in project management or construction management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD and BIM programs
  • Experience with construction scheduling and contract management programs
  • Experience working in an academic environment
