Position:
The College of Health Professions invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology beginning August 2021.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a research doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in speech-language pathology. ABD applications will be considered with initial appointment at the Instructor rank; all degree requirements must be completed by February, 2022. ASHA CCC-SLP certification and current (or eligibility for) Maryland licensure are required.

Candidates should have research, clinical, and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: voice disorders, motor speech disorders, and/or neurogenic communication disorders.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate class instruction, research, and university, community, and professional service. Clinical supervision may also be included. Teach speech-language pathology-related courses in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.

Department Information:

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology currently has 16 full-time faculty who teach nearly 250 undergraduate students. The Department’s graduate programs enroll over 85 students in the Master’s degree program in Speech-Language Pathology, and over 60 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program. The Department values diversity and inclusion and encourages interdisciplinary activities. The Department has two main clinical centers, the Speech & Language Center and the Hearing & Balance Center; these two centers are part of the College’s Institute for Well-Being, which is the University’s premiere interprofessional education and practice center.
