Job Description:

Perform laboratory testing of human biological samples for diagnostic purposes using various methodologies. Testing includes, but is not limited to, operation of state-of-the-art automated chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, and coagulation systems and performing various clinical laboratory assays using automated and/or manual methods.

Actively participate in the interfacing of automated instrumentation with the laboratory information system (LIS); involved in LIS-associated tasks such as test builds and dictionary maintenance. 10% - Participate in the overall maintenance of the laboratory. Purchase supplies, maintain instruments and equipment, and comply with all laboratory policies and procedures.

Responsible for all routine documentation associated with the performance of laboratory testing; includes reporting results and all quality control documentation.

Participate, with other technologists, in development of tests as defined by the laboratory director. Recommend updates and changes to laboratory procedure manuals.

Expected Salary:

$21.00/hr

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree in an appropriate area and four years of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 3 years pertinent clinical laboratory experience or Associate’s degree with 2 years pertinent clinical laboratory experience AND one (1) year training in a Medical Technology CAHEA approved program.

State of Florida technician license - MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT) or MLT (AAB) in Hematology and Chemistry Coagulation REQUIRED.

Other sub specialties in addition to Hematology and Chemistry preferred.
