Department Information
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology is one of five departments in the College of Science and Mathematics. We serve a diverse student population. With colleagues in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology we offer B.S. degrees in Biology and Environmental Science. Job Summary
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Biology that begins in August 2021.

Responsibilities
This is a non-tenure track, 9-month, full-time position with the potential for additional compensation during the summer depending on departmental needs. The incumbent will serve as coordinator for the Introductory Microbiology courses, which are core upper-level courses for the Biology curriculum. Coordinator responsibilities include taking a leadership role in a) refining the curriculum to meet the needs of the diverse students whom we serve and to position them to be leaders in scientific innovation, b) supporting full-time and part-time faculty and graduate student assistants teaching the courses, c) teaching the coordinated lecture and laboratory courses each semester, and d) developing and implementing effective assessment tools to analyze teaching effectiveness and improve student learning. Depending on the Candidate's interests, additional responsibilities may include conducting research on teaching and learning in undergraduate education or engaging in service to the Department, University, and/or the general and professional communities. Candidates for this position must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, inclusivity in the classroom, and student success and have experience teaching in area of microbiology.

Required Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have 1) an earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) in microbiology or a closely-related discipline from an accredited institution; 2) microbiology teaching experience at the undergraduate level in an accredited institution; 3) demonstrable strong commitment to inclusive teaching practices and readiness to invest deeply in KSU students. Candidates with a broad range of backgrounds and leadership experiences are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience with or demonstrated potential for:

    conducting assessments of undergraduate student learning and educational outcomes coordinating courses and streamlining assessments for multiple sections of a course working collaboratively with faculty and mentoring students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds
