The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Denver invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor position in our teaching professorial track (non-tenure track) for the academic year 2021-2022 beginning September 1, 2021. The position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate biology courses for non-science majors with possibility of majors courses in area of specialization. The duties include teaching six courses per year (quarter system) plus service including advising. Appointments at this rank will be made initially as a one-year contract renewable on a yearly basis for three years, followed by a three-year contract where renewal is contingent on formal performance review. The Teaching Professorial Series provides opportunity for promotion and advancement within the series. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience and versatility in inclusive pedagogy. We are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion through their teaching, research, and service.
- Teaching non-major Biology courses.
- Academic advising for Biology majors.
- Ph.D. from a life science discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to teach college level biology courses.
- Experience in teaching and developing college level biology curriculum, especially for non-science majors.

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade for the position is UC.
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
