The Interdisciplinary Studies Department (ISD) houses several programs: African and African Diaspora Studies, American Studies, Asian Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, Native American Studies, Peace Studies, and Religious Studies.
Each program offers a minor, and the department also offers a B.A. in African and African Diaspora Studies, a B.A. in Asian Studies, a Master's in American Studies, and courses in Science, Technology, and Society.
In addition to academic programs, faculty are deeply involved in research and community outreach activities and organize several student-oriented conferences each year. Job Summary
The Asian Studies Program at Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.
Part-time faculty are hired from this department's pool of applications on a semester-by-semester basis. Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on program needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus. Qualified out-of-state applicants with demonstrated success in online teaching are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, including a general education course: ASIA 1102: Introduction to Asian Cultures. There may be opportunities to teach upper level courses on occasion. Required Qualifications
Master's, PhD or other terminal degree, or its foreign equivalent is required. Candidate with a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in Asian Studies along with relevant professional experience will also be considered.
