The Department of Public Health Sciences is seeking an Assistant Professor in the Division of Translational Research & Applied Statistics. This tenure-eligible faculty position will play a significant role in participating in collaborative research projects and developing independent high-impact statistical research. Applicants with methodologic or applied expertise related to clinical trial design, especially for middle development, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to work within the Center for Early Phase Trials (CEPT) and collaboratively with investigators at the NCI-designated UVA Cancer Center, pursue independent methodologic research, and participate in the department’s education activities.
The position requires a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related field. Strong methodologic and applied statistical expertise, excellent written and verbal communication skills, research productivity, and an interest in teaching are also required.
Experience in cancer-related research is preferred.
