The Director, Programs provides leadership, strategy administration, and direction for a wide range of programs to enhance their effectiveness. Moreover, the Director, Programs coordinates all functions and services for assigned program(s) and takes charge of budget accountability and personnel management.
Department Specific Functions
This position will work at GME Office at Holy Cross Hospital. In addition, will oversee and support:
Recruits, hires and trains program staff members of the residency and fellowship education programs. Participates in resident and fellowship recruitment, selection and admission, making recommendations when required to do sci. Manages and evaluates the staff performance. Prepares, maintains, and reports on program effectiveness. Configures and customizes the residency program database for the core program and fellowships.
Develops, oversees and improves the residency and fellowship educational programs, implement changes based on the current accreditation standards, and prepare for accreditation site visits and review by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Maintains Web-based ACGME accreditation surveys. Assists with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures and other program relevant documents. Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and accreditation standards.
Supervises the scheduling, planning and organization of residents' and fellows' orientation, graduation and other special events and activities. Works with other departments to increase program awareness. Identifies new needs and emerging issues and develops new programs, initiatives, and resources. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
