STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to work other hours including evenings needed.

The Application Developer 1 will build software solutions for one or more application platforms at the College. This position is part of the Enterprise Applications team and responsible for maintenance and monitoring of enterprise wide systems. Teammates are responsible for the Campus Solutions, Financials, HRMS, Website, Intranet, CMS, and Data Warehouse systems. This level of support does occasionally require evening or weekend work.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Support and customize enterprise wide systems using tools required for PeopleSoft, Salesforce, SharePoint, Kentico or other supported systems
  • Build and maintain application integrations between various enterprise systems and desperate applications located on premise and in the cloud
  • Analyze, build, implement, upgrade, and provide production support for custom applications and processes related to NWTC business processes
  • Analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn about specific requirements
  • Provide technical support to all staff and end users in the proper use of application systems and related products
  • Work with clients to design new and improve existing procedures in support of operations
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop/modify the applications
  • Maintain communications and positive relations between users and staff; may participate and represent at meetings pertaining to the delivery of departmental services and computing initiatives
  • Complete the fit gap Analysis with vendor supplied software packages and complete the implementation to meet current and projected needs

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

Experience (minimum 3 years):

    Designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting applications Analyzing, enhancing, and supporting production enterprise systemsSupporting systems such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Kentico, SharePoint and Office365Developing with tools such as Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, IIS, Power BI, Power Automate, PowerShell, GitHub, Postman, Fiddler, Node Package Manager (NPM),
    Developing with technologies such as ASP.Net, .Net Core, C#, Java, JavaScript, Angular, XML, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, SQL, SOQL, PowerShell, Apex, Markdown, Web Services, and APIsTroubleshooting, problem solving, time managing, and multi-taskingUnderstanding the software development lifecycle and adhering to both waterfall and agile project management methodologiesLeveraging source code management, revision control, and documentation toolsWorking in a higher education, student focused, team-oriented environment
