Required Education:

Doctoral degree in nursing required or doctoral degree in associated field with baccalaureate degree in nursing. Specialization as a Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Required Related Experience:

Minimum of two years of full time or equivalent experience employed as a nurse practitioner within the past 5 years.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

Active Kentucky license as a registered nurse or ability to obtain license by date of hire.

Active Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) certification as a Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, or ability to obtain certification by date of hire.

Job Summary:

The University Of Kentucky College Of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (12-month) position in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduate Program. This tenure track position includes developing, coordinating, and teaching content in a DNP graduate program, accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Position duties require classroom and online instruction; supervision of graduate students in clinical settings; advising students; involvement on college committees; clinical scholarship and membership in professional organizations, as well as service in clinical practice. This position will also collaborate with UK HealthCare.

Qualifications include a doctor of nursing practice (DNP), or doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree and hold a current certification as an advance practice nurse and eligible for licensure as an advance practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Kentucky. The successful candidate must have an active Kentucky RN license, or ability to obtain license by date of hire. A minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent experience employed as an APRN is required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, clinical practice and service.
