Concordia College (Moorhead, Minnesota), invites applications for a Music Teaching Fellow specializing in Trumpet starting August 15, 2021, for a two-year term with the possibility of renewal. This Fellowship is aimed at supporting the development of an early career artist teacher; diversifying faculty who teach at Concordia and in liberal arts colleges generally; and otherwise supporting the College’s initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This full-time position will be hired at the rank of Instructor.

The successful candidate will be a trumpet specialist able to lead the trumpet studio (both music majors and non-majors), teach all trumpet lessons, and contribute to recruiting efforts on behalf of the department. Additional areas of teaching may include music education (brass techniques, etc.), jazz studies, ensemble conducting (jazz ensemble, concert band, orchestra), or other areas of the candidate’s interest and expertise.

Applicants should have a plan for professional and artistic development to be conducted during the Fellowship. Non-teaching responsibilities will include creative activity, wider campus service, and recruiting activities, determined in collaboration with the department chair. The Fellow will implement a plan for their own artistic development with support from colleagues and the department; involving students in this creative activity is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications:  
A Master’s degree with related experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications: 
An earned doctorate or ABD is preferred.
