Nature of Work

The Department of Biostatistics and Informatics, Colorado School of Public Health, is seeking a two-year post-doctoral fellow in causal inference, available to start immediately.

The focus of this position will be the development and implementation of novel statistical and computational methods motivated by potential applications to observational studies. The work will involve both methodological research with biostatistics faculty and collaboration with biomedical investigators. The incumbent will report directly to Drs. Debashis Ghosh and Fan Yang. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a highly collaborative campus, and the particular collaborative direction will depend on the interests of the applicant. 

The Colorado School of Public Health is a collaborative endeavor involving the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz), Colorado State University (CSU), and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). The Colorado School of Public Health is the first and only accredited school of public health in the Rocky Mountain Region, attracting top tier faculty and students from across the country, and providing vital contributions towards ensuring our region’s health and wellbeing. Collaboratively formed in 2008 by CU Denver, CSU and UNC, the Colorado School of Public Health provides training, innovative research and community service to actively address public health issues including chronic disease, access to healthcare, environmental threats, emerging infectious diseases, and costly injuries.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range has been established at $53,760 to $56,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Minimum Qualifications:

    PhD/ ScD from an accredited college or university in statistics, biostatistics, computer science or related field at the start of the postdoc.2 years’ background in causal inference methods (e.g., coursework or research on propensity scores, matching, inverse weighting methods and/or related topics).Minimum of 2 year(s) of experience in statistical software such as R, Matlab, Python or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with development of R packages or other software.Knowledge of genetics and genome-wide association studies.Knowledge of high-dimensional data analysis (machine learning methods).
