The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Grant Coordinator position.

Job Summary:
This is a Grant Coordinator position in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research.  The position provides multi-investigator grant proposal assembly assistance for Anschutz Medical Campus Principal Investigators (PIs).  The position, assists with assembling and reviewing grant applications and budgets, and assures compliance with applicable policy and guidelines.  The Coordinator provides information to administrative unit personnel and PIs on grants and sponsored project issues as needed.  This position also serves as a liaison between funding agencies, administrative units and PIs.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Facilitates and coordinates multi-PI grant submissions, including program project (PO1) grants, training (T32) grants, and center (P30) grants
  • Works with OGC to prepare funding tables
  • Works with department administrators to assemble information about participating faculty, including publications, collaborations, funding, training experience, biosketches
  • Reviews grant applications for comprehensiveness, responsiveness to RFA, and compliance with funding agency guidelines, applicable federal, state and university policies and regulations, and university procedures.  
  • Assist with proposal budgets.  
  • Handle all communication  and follow-up with administrative unit staff/PI/sponsor concerning additional information required by sponsor or University to finalize proposal (e.g., just-in-time requests, response to status inquiries), obtain approval(s) to existing awards (e.g., carry-forward requests, time extension requests), notify department of action(s) needed (e.g., award negotiation required), and handle e-mail requests sent to section's general inbox for assigned departments, as well as individual inbox.

Salary and Benefits:

  • The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $47,697 - $60,670
  • The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
  • The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
  • This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • At least one (1 )year of professional level experience with federal grants proposals
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Track record of coordinating multi-PI grants
  • Experience with Info Ed Proposal Development System or similar grant submission software
  • Experience in budget development and/or review
  • Prior higher education or research setting experience
Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Experience with database analysis
  • Experience with Excel, MS Word, PPT, and Adobe Acrobat or similar software 
  • Strong writing skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to train University staff on the principles of Proposal Development
  • Ability to maintain expertise in all aspects of grant submission and stay current with frequently changing regulations.
