Position Summary

Position is responsible for the oversight of medical records department and support staff. Will design, revise and implement policies, procedures and systems to maintain compliance to federal and state regulations, identify areas for quality improvement initiatives while maintaining high quality service to patients and staff. Will coordinate electronic health record process changes including training of new and existing staff. Will audit records and provide reports and finding to administrators and physicians

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired in a four year college degree program in Health Information Administration; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in analyzing and assuring the quality of medical records, developing programs and policies and supervising others; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and certification by the American Health Information Management Association.

Desired Qualifications

Past experience working with Athena EHR

3-5 years of supervisory experience in union environment
