SUMMARY:

The University Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for the development and maintenance of community-based relationships that result in the creation of workforce and industry partnerships. The coordinator will establish and secure agreements with local community colleges and employers to create new workforce leaning programs that will have a direct impact in student enrollment and success.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with community colleges and employers to ensure partnerships that support the growth of competency-based education programs
  • Procure MOUs and/or affiliation agreements
  • Coordinate with each community college and employer partner point of contact to match students and/or employees to competency-based education programs that meet their educational needs
  • Work collaboratively with the Dean and College of Innovation & Design faculty and staff to support the development of successful workforce and industry partnerships
  • Identify opportunities and challenges facing the College of Innovation & Design, specific to workforce and industry partnerships
  • Attend various events and conferences to network and make relationships with potential community college and corporate partners
  • Plan, coordinate, and assist in the promotion and marketing of workshops, events and activities related to workforce and industry partnerships
  • Produce and distributes promotional materials and partnership information
  • Organize office functions and establish internal procedures
  • Publish and maintain a database of MOUs/agreements documents and guidelines
  • Report regularly to the College of Innovation & Design Dean and Institute for Competency-Based Education Executive Director
  • Assist in grant and/or program proposal submissions to state, federal or related agencies
  • Prepare guided pathway degree plans for seamless transition from community college to our competency-based programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, educational administration, or related field
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Three (3) years related experience. Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication; strong organizational skills including time and information management and the ability to work within specific deadlines; technology literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team. Work with A&M-Commerce community partners, faculty, staff to develop workforce and industry partnerships.
  • Licensing/Professional Certifications: Valid Driver’s License
  • Physical Requirements: None
  • Other Requirements: May require work beyond normal working hours including evenings and weekends. May require travel to attend events and/or conferences, as well as to build, establish, or strengthen new and existing partnerships, etc.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree. Previous development and management expertise within higher education. Familiarity with workforce education, community colleges, recruiting and competency-based education.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

May supervise student workers, graduate assistants, interns
