Job Summary:

JobFunction:
Coordinates plans and implements a comprehensive program ofacademic and social services to participants. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, academicadvising, program planning, publication, program evaluation, goalclarification, student advocacy, public relations, connecting participants withthird party services and coalition building.

EssentialJob Functions:

    Administer and/or coordinate the academic and career assessments for program participants
    Conduct individual and small group sessions to address personal, academic and career concerns.
    Develops and implements new strategies for retention and graduation.
    Assists in event planning.
    Conducts on-going sessions with participants to provide assistance with academics, career services, study skills, financial aid, financial literacy and personal issues.
    Conduct or arrange a variety of skill-building and career-learning activity workshops, presentations, and cultural events aimed at improving the participants’ academic and social skills.
    Manage program spending in compliance with grant requirements.
    Participate with recruiting, selecting and assessing new participants.
    Refer participants to outside agencies and locations of support.
    In conjunction with the director, serve as liaison to the campus and community partners in order to inform them of program activities and participant accomplishments.
    Serve on college committees as requested by director.
    Completes all mandatory training and participated in a minimum of two professional development each year.
    Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Human Relations, Sociology or related field preferred or equivalent experience

WorkExperience:

    Experience serving populations eligible for CFSI,
    Knowledge of postsecondary requirements and financial aid.
    Familiarity with cultural/socioeconomic matrix of the target area.
    Computer skills for data entry.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

    Excellent communication and organizational skills
    Effective problem-solving skills
    Efficient in maintaining databases.
    Ability to provide educational, career and academic counseling.
    Knowledge of data base systems
    Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff, parents, high school officials and community agencies/partners
    Public speaking ability and skills; must be able to develop and deliver presentations, workshops and seminars to participants, families, peers and the general public.
    Passion for assisting students and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism
    Passion for assisting students in the recovery and mental health community.
    Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior
PreferredQualifications:

    Master’s Degree preferred.
    Educational grant experience
    Experience working with local nonprofits or diversion programs.
WorkingConditions:

    Work is primarily performed in an office environment with a significant amount of contact in person, by telephone and via email.
    In-state travel to include exposure to outside conditions as relates to program cultural events and activities. Occasional overnight stay may be required.Occasional out-of-state travel for trainings.
    Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required
Physical Requirements:

    Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening, and computer usage.
    Requires lifting up to 30 pounds (if an object weighs more than 45 pounds, OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift.)
