HEAD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH/HES INSTRUCTOR

Academic, Tenure-track, Full-Time, 10-months, $57,995 - $103,454/ annually 

Quincy, CA

 

Under direction of the Chief Instructional Officer (CIO), this position is responsible to teach related Health and Exercise Studies (HES) classes (includes 50% assignment to teach intercollegiate basketball and other classes as assigned). Under general direction of the Director of Athletic Operations and Events, this position is responsible to coordinate, recruit, plan, organize and coach a community college intercollegiate women's basketball program (includes 50% assignment release time to coach, recruit, and plan an intercollegiate women's basketball team, includes weekends and evenings as required during fall and spring semesters). Potential summer duties may include camp/clinic instruction/supervision, recruiting, program development, and other related activities. The person in this position should have experience teaching and coaching students of different academic levels and diverse backgrounds, and should have a repertoire of effective teaching and coaching methods. Requires Master's in physical education, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy OR A current California Community College Credential that permits full-time service as an instructor in physical education, OR Education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items above, Basketball coaching experience, and Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic and socio-economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
