Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Heart Transplant Program 3-309-1031

Job description

Job Description
As part of the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Heart Failure program expansion, the Department of Medicine’s Cardiovascular Medicine Division is actively recruiting a full-time Associate/Assistant-level professor to help grow our extensive clinical programs in heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, and contribute to the scientific mission of the University.  It is expected that the candidate, with mentorship, will develop a research portfolio with extramural funding.

Our advanced heart failure section is nationally known with an excellent track record in cutting edge mechanical circulatory support, heart transplant and in advanced heart failure. The University of Maryland Division of Cardiovascular and Maryland Heart Center are home to some of the brightest minds in the world in medical and surgical management of heart failure. The heart failure program is nationally recognized with an extended patient referral base.

This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and all candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license. Fellowship training in advanced heart failure, as well as a proven record in research, clinical care and teaching is required.  Existing extramural funding support is important but not mandatory for the right candidate.
Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  The University of Maryland Health System represents a dynamic, regional cardiovascular network that spans the Baltimore and Washington DC capital region, and ranks among the nations very best in cardiac care.  We are proud to offer a competitive salary, medical/dental benefits, disability plans, retirement plans, and more!

When applying, please submit a cover letter, CV and names of four references.  For additional questions after application, please email [email protected]
