Job Summary:

The Title V Grant Success Coaches report to the Title V Grant Project Director. The Title V Grant Success Coaches will help students recognize and achieve their educational goals. The Success Coaches will help students examine school programs, recognize their academic strengths, and select a major. The Success Coaches will also assist in implementing strategies to enhance student retention and graduation and provide a transfer path. They will work closely with college administrators and stay up-to-date on program changes. In addition, these professionals provide outreach and support to grant-eligible students over time. Other duties as assigned. The grant position is for a four year time period. Title V grant is a five-year grant awarded by the Department of Education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree required with related experience in the field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred from an accredited college or university.

At least one year of experience in a high school or higher education setting as a faculty member or in a student services role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as an academic advisor/counselor/recruiter or faculty member in a higher education setting.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to deal with students, faculty and staff in professional manner.

Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.

Ability to promote a positive campus image.

Ability to follow established college policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly carry up to 25 pounds, and lift up to 25 pounds. Frequent local travel.

SALARY :

$34,000 Annual Salary

Work Hours:

40 hrs a wk; Mon-Fri 8 to 5; Occasional Overtime
