Hofstra University is located on Long Island, just 25 miles east of New York City on a beautiful 240-acre campus that is a nationally-recognized arboretum. The University enrolls over 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students. Of the 10 schools and one college at Hofstra, half were established in the last five years, underscoring the tremendous growth and innovation occurring. The School of Health Professions and Human Services is Hofstra’s home to three flourishing departments: Health Professions; Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences; and Counseling and Mental Health Professions. The Department of Health Professions is home to four undergraduate programs (Athletic Training; Community Health; Exercise Science; Health Sciences), six graduate programs (Health Administration; Health Information Technology; Health Professions Education; Public Health; Occupational Therapy; Sports Science) and two advanced certificate programs.
Qualifications:Candidates must hold a PhD, DrPH, or MD by 1 August 2021, in Public Health, Global Health, Population Health Sciences, Sociomedical Sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, or closely related public health discipline (includes, but are not limited to, Statistics, Economics, Medicine, Political Science, Psychology, Public Policy, and Sociology). Preference will be given to candidates with an established record or demonstrated potential for teaching excellence, collaborative scholarly activity, mentoring students, and working with local healthcare and community groups.
