May perform analyses, development and evaluation on large databases and large complex installations. May provide reporting and decision support systems consultation. May provide data analysis expertise to one or more project or support teams. May work with vendor delivered solutions

Job Description

This position in the Clinical Research Unit - Center for Surgery and Health Economics - will provide analytic support to biomedical research projects within the DOS C-SHE including, but not limited to, clinical trials, observational studies and analysis of EHRs, claims and registry data. This position will: assist study investigators in the areas of protocol development, study design, analysis plan, sample size / power calculations, database management including cleaning of datasets and construction of analytic datasets, and interpretation of study data; write new and/or revised statistical programs and modeling based on requirements of ongoing research projects; conduct and interpret analyses of research data using descriptive statistics, basic inferential tests, and advanced statistical procedures; evaluate and ensure statistical integrity, accuracy and validity of research data; compiles results and provides statistical summaries and reports to principal investigators; assist with grant proposal preparation in study design, and sample size calculations,; assist with preparation of journal articles, technical reports and other materials for publication and presentation; manage biomedical databases for assigned research projects; read and review appropriate biomedical and statistical papers; and attend project meetings.

Should be proficient in one or more of the following: STATA, SAS, R. Optional proficiency: SQL.

Position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of data analyst experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required knowledge includes process and data modeling, data architectural development methodology and working knowledge of databases. Experience using data analysis tool and databases. Demonstrated competence in systems analysis and design and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
